Treatment

Manual lymphatic drainage in Crimmitschau

Gentle, rhythmic technique for swelling, after surgery and for lymphoedema, including compression therapy. On medical prescription.

When tissue holds on to fluid.

Manual lymphatic drainage works with very light pressure to help tissue fluid drain away. The strokes follow the lymph vessels and start where the fluid leaves the body, not where the swelling sits. The treatment is almost painless and, depending on the prescription, takes longer than other treatments.

Common reasons

How a treatment works.

01

Assessment

I check where the swelling sits and whether there are any contraindications.

02

Treatment

Light, rhythmic strokes along the lymph vessels, at a calm pace.

03

Compression

Compression therapy with bandages where needed, plus advice on movement and skin care.

Billing

With a prescription

Lymphatic drainage is prescribed by a doctor and billed to your health insurer. The prescription sets the length of each session. The statutory co-payment applies unless you are exempt.

Without a prescription

Treatment without a prescription is possible in individual cases. Please talk to me first, as there are contraindications that a doctor needs to rule out.
